Golf team takes home a win

Staff Writer

Commerce City, Co.- Englewood has a stellar golf team this year, teeing up to have a strong season. The season opener on Thursday at Buffalo Run in Commerce City turned out to be a perfect beginning. Thomas O’Connor is the team captain, “We have two seniors and one sophomore and one student from Sheridan joining us because they don’t have a team at Sheridan. They contribute well to the team and give a good effort at practice.”

“It was a great start to the season because we started off with a big win. We had 6 strokes less than Vista Peak. I played well and placed first in the individual category. Coach Ambron runs great practices where we can improve as a team. I am working on my putting”, says O’Connor (11).

The next match-up is Tuesday at Spring Valley Golf Club in Elizabeth.
