Hi and welcome to the weekly announcements brought to you by the team of PirateTV

I’m…..Ethan Korum

And I’m…..Fin Talley… thanks for joining us.

Homecoming kicks off this Friday. Get involved with your school and show Pirate pride by taking part in one or more of the activities. We will share the entire schedule on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and the Pirateer dot com.

Here is the poster you have seen around the school with the activities. The kickoff assembly is this Friday, then Student Government will be hosting a Homecoming carnival this Saturday from 3-5 pm. Clubs and sports will have games and activities set up outside in the courtyard. Then Monday, the bonfire and powder puff. Dress up days all week. The parade is Thursday, followed by the tailgate party and the football game. We will live stream the football game if you can’t be there. Just go to the pirateer dot com.

The dance is next Saturday. Homecoming guests who do not attend Englewood will need to get a form from the front office and have it turned in to Mr. Rode by Wednesday, September 24th. See a member of the student government if you have any questions.

Future Latino Alliance Leaders will be selling candy all week to raise money for the victims of El Paso. Please help us help the victims in an effort to build their community back and purchase some amazing Mexican treats!!!

The Englewood Calendar Contest Deadline is Friday, September 20th. If you are interested in submitting work for the calendar, please see Mrs. Ancona in room 2116.

Would you like to have the opportunity to receive 3-15 hours of community service? The EHS Choirs will once again be hosting this year’s Colorado All-State Choir Auditions for the entire Denver Metro region – the largest of 4 audition sites in the state. Over 800 Junior and Senior students will come to EHS to audition before state judges to try and earn placement in this year’s Colorado All-State Choir! We need motivated and dedicated volunteers to run ALL aspects of this first-class, 3-day event from October 17-19! Come see Mrs. Saddler in the Choir room for details on volunteer roles needed, and how to get signed up for volunteer shifts.

In sports, Thursday softball plays away at Alameda, volleyball is home against Conifer. Cross country is away Saturday in Lyons and Varsity football is away against Denver West.

That’s it for now. We will have full coverage of homecoming events on the pirateer dot com. Have a safe, fun week.
