Pro Start, Englewood High School’s top chefs, finished a strong 5th at a competition held March 11th. Pro Start is is part of the National Restaurant Association education foundation. Mrs. Davis, the culinary teacher explains how it all works,
“The ProStart Culinary Competition is:
1. A team of 4 students
2. Two 8′ tables in the shape of an “L”
3. Two butane burners (camping stove)
4. One hour
5. Complete a three-course meal (appetizer, entree, dessert)
We had to bring EVERYTHING that we needed from pots/pans, utensils, and food.
We have been practicing for a few months, during class, after class and on the weekends. There were 19 culinary teams competing”.
