PirateTV announcements (February 5, 2020)

Hi and welcome to the PirateTV announcements for the week of January 22, 2020.

And I’m _________________

Each week, we here at Pirate TV are talking about mental health. This week, we dive into PTSD. Finn Talley explains.

You can also follow our mental health podcasts on the pirateer dot com.

Dozens of EHS seniors are seeing their futures in their email! It is the time of year when many are finding out where they are going to college.

Recently the EHS band members had a unique opportunity to play during the halftime show at the Denver Nuggets basketball game. PirateTV’s Casey Cheatum takes us there.

Seniors! Please make sure you have submitted a senior quote by Friday.

Remember, it needs to be short, positive, and the author of the quote must be included. Send it to Ms. Shotts ASAP.

Remember, yearbooks are on sale for $50.00 through February 1st. After that, the price goes up  $5-dollars. Save your memories from your year.

Come join the singing phenomenon, or learn how by signing up to audition or interview for the 2020-2021 choirs.

An audition is required only for auditioned choir groups, called Select and ETC, and is recommended for all upcoming 10th-12 grade students simply so they can know their current skill level. There is no pressure for perfection, or already knowing all skills. Skills will come with our learning and rehearsal times.

The “EHS Singers” Choir group is open to anyone without an audition, & is a great place to get started on learning vocal and musical skills. Many meaningful and fun opportunities away to you in the EHS choir program!”

In sports,

EHS wrestlers are led by senior James Sharp who has grown as an athlete over the last four years. PirateTV’s Casey Cheatum has his story.

In basketball, the boys varsity team….

The girls….

The Englewood varsity swimming team has a neutral non-conference meet vs. Adams City on Wednesday at 4p.

“From the weight room, here are the results from the weekly ‘Pirate Shipyard Tonnage Challenge’.  This past Friday Pirate ship, “WHYDAH” stayed in the lead during 6th period moving 67,750 total pounds. Pirate ship, “BLACK PEARL” stayed the lead during 7th period moving 107,455 total pounds.  Congratulations to each team and look for a new challenge this Friday

That’s all the time we have. Remember to get the latest news and information on the pirateer dot com and listen to our Walk The Plank Podcasts. These are interviews with students and teachers who shape the lives of our students. Have a great week.
