Jasmine Torrez-Student (8th grade)
How are you feeling about the COVID-19 pandemic? “Lately dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic has been hard. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen or hung out with any of my friends since the stay-at-home order my family has taken it really seriously and I haven’t been outside as much as I usually did. And the upside is I feel like I have a lot more time than I did before.”
How do you feel about taking classes online? “Personally I feel like taking classes online is a bit harder to keep up with. Just for the fact of not having that face-to-face contact with your teachers and plus you need to take a lot of responsibility for remembering what assignments are due and when they are due, otherwise, your grades will fall behind. I’m just happy I get to spend more time with my family.
How do you de-stress during such a tough time? “A few things that have made this less stressful is spending time with my family and watching my favorite shows and movies. I also like to go outside in the backyard with my dogs and to draw in my sketchbook.”
“I can’t wait for the days that I get to go back to school. I miss my friends and teachers and I feel like online schooling just isn’t for me.”
