Alex Perez – 9th Grade

“I think it has helped me grow in a positive way, teaching me what it really means to be a pirate and teaching me how to be a leader. I’ve become much more social, as well as involved in more sports and extracurriculars. I have found ways to connect with people at our school of all grades and ages. I can say I’ve been challenged as a student and as a player to be more successful and competitive, and to also strive for good performance. Being involved in many things and groups has also allowed me to meet many great new people who I connect with and given me a chance to be more out there and comfortable around people. To a person who’s maybe struggling I’d maybe recommend they try to go out of their comfort zone and see what’s offered and try something they’re interested in. I think joining those extracurriculars was one of my best decisions and helped shape my experience and helped me grow into who I am now. “
