John Nicholl graduated from EHS in 1950. His brick on the memorial lists his name as well as his wife and sons. According to his obituary, he was 78 when he passed away. He was born on Feb 18, 1933.
He enlisted in the Navy in 1951 and served our country training Navy pilots in navigation skills. On August 26, 1955, he married Ida May (Dye).
He was a registered land surveyor and operated Arapahoe Surveys. In 1964 he was elected Arapahoe County Commissioner and served the citizens with great leadership, passion, and commitment for 24 years. He was instrumental in the development of Arapahoe County Airport (now Centennial Airport.) His family said he was a man of integrity and honor and was a dedicated public servant.
