EHS announcements February 23rd, 2017
Hi and welcome to the PirateTV announcements for February 23rd.
Fake news is everywhere, and many Americans in this digital age struggle to sort fact from fiction. The fix: Teach them when they’re young. More than 100 students took part in a Fake News lesson earlier this week. Your librarian Brian Hackett gave students information on what fake news is and how to spot it. In addition, he asked students a few questions about fake news. Here are the responses… 46-percent say they’ve heard of fake news. 23-percent say they’ve been tricked by fake news. Almost 58-percent of students get their news from Facebook, and 78-percent say they generally trust the information they see as fact.
