“It went great. It was well

received by the audience and the actor’s hard work paid off.” Talia Liccardello can hardly contain her excitement about the latest production Aladdin.

Aladdin is a musical based on the 1992 Disney animated film of the same name with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman, Tim Rice, and Chad Beguelin. The story follows the family of a poor young man who is granted three wishes by a genie in a lamp, which he uses to woo a princess and to thwart the bad guys. It is set in the Middle East.

One of the things that gave audiences a thrill was seeing the actors and actresses from Englewood Middle school and ELA (with support from EHS) step up to their roles. They loved the costumes, “They did an amazing job making the play Aladdin colorful and it really caught my eye with how well they dressed,” Cody Swinson, one of the teachers said.

“I saw the play. It was great to watch. I liked everything about it,” Skylar Johnsen (12) said. Ms. L. is considering “Little Shop of Horrors” as the next production.
