Rachel’s Challenge: A day without hate

Craig Scott speaks to students with the haunting beautiful image of his sister in the background

Vivian Cedillo, Pirateer Staff

The Day without Hate moved students and staff to tears while bringing us together as a campus. EHS joined together with students all over the state, in celebrating Peace, Love, and Unity.  Students and staff wore white to represent pro-peace and anti-violence.

Guest speaker Craig Scott, the brother of Rachel Scott gave students and staff motivation to be the change they want to see in the world. He told the story of being in the library during the Columbine shooting and watching friends die while praying for his safety and those around him. He helped motivate students to stand after the horrific incident and run out of the school. It was hours later before he learned his sister was the first killed in the shooting spree.
