Math students take part in CSU Mathematics Day
Six EHS students made a day trip to Colorado State University to take part in the Sonia Kovalevsky Day/Woma in Mathematics event. Students Shy Clanton, Paige Lincoln-Rohlfing, Rachel Reyes, Guinevere Sailors, Jenna Perry, and Milagros Hernandez-Vasquez took part in workshops and gameplay in order to up their math skills.
Dr. Brandy Bourdeaux took the students to the event that celebrates girls who rock math.
According to the CSU site about the event, Sonia Kovalevsky Day is an opportunity for high school-aged women and their teachers to join Math Jam in celebrating women in mathematics! SK Day is an opportunity to explore modern math research, to see what possibilities math can give, and to grow the mathematical community.
