Announcements for January 19th, 2017

Hello, here are the announcements for the week of january 19th.

Early in the afternoon tomorrow, Donald Trump will become the 45th president of the United States after taking the oath of office at the Capitol, in what will be the country’s 58th inauguration ceremony.

The president-elect’s Inaugural Committee has released a schedule of official events for three days of celebrations. The weekend, according to the Trump team, kicks off tonight.

Newsweek has provided this information for us.

Inaugural Swearing-In Ceremony

West Front of the U.S. Capitol Building

Ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m.; opening remarks at 11:30 a.m.; swearing in at noon by Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts Jr.

Hillary Clinton, who lost to Trump, will attend the inauguration with her husband, former President Bill Clinton. Former President George W. Bush and former first lady Laura Bush, as well as former President Jimmy Carter, also will be there.

on Inauguration day… the Parade Starts at the steps of the Capitol Building and proceeds along Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House.

As with any inauguration, hundreds of thousands of people are expected to visit and celebrate the event, while others are planning to descend on the town to protest the incoming president and his vice president.

Lets turn to news around Englewood high school.

Choir Auditions for next year’s vocal groups will begin after school Wed. Jan. 18th in the Choir Room, and will continue once a week through early February. Want to make new connections and friendships? Choir is a great way to do so, and a place to experience a variety of collaborative events! Don’t know how to sing? Come and learn how to use your voice! Nervous to perform in front of people? Come and join a team to help you gain the confidence you need to overcome this common fear as you also learn life skills. Come by and sign up for an audition time slot on a sign-up sheet posted on the Choir Room Door in the Fine Arts Hallway. Anyone interested in a non-audition interview instead may sign up for a simple 2-minute slot. Any questions? Please come and talk to Mrs. Saddler in the choir room.

any student interested in playing a spring sport must have a current sports physical on file, see ms kim in the main office to make an appointment.

Englewood Lacrosse has started the winter season. That means the team plays indoors. It gets players ready for the regular season. I had a chance to talk to Chase Soderstorm who is on the team about practice, games and the season.
