(xx)Air quality in colorado is still poor because of the wildfires burning across the western states.

NPR is reporting It’s an unusually bad wild fire season in the West, and for weeks people across the region have been breathing air thick with smoke.

“There’s smoke from Canada, smoke from Idaho, smoke from California and Montana. There’s smoke everywhere,” says Greg Svelund, a spokesman for Oregon’s Department of Environmental Quality.

A quick look at the Environmental Protection Agency’s Air Now website shows unhealthy or hazardous air conditions all over the Pacific Northwest and into Northern California, Idaho and Montana. Smoke is also spilling into colorado.

The baseball offseason meeting is going to be held in Mr. Brink’s room

3412 tomorrow, Thursday, September 14th at 3:30 pm.

It will discuss offseason workouts and throwing programs that will

begin on September 18th. If you are interested in doing baseball this season, you should attend this informational meeting.

(xx)Varsity football takes on Denver North on friday. The team is coming off a huge win over Denver west last week.

We spoke to Raul Saucedo about the team and their chances this week.

(xx) Don’t forget to come support your fellow Englewood pirates at their upcoming games. Varsity softball has games on Thursday here for varsity and next Monday for varsity at Jefferson high at 4. Volleyball has games all at Englewood 4:30 for c team, 5:30 Jv game and 6:30 varsity game all on Thursday.There is a varsity golf tournament for varsity on Wednesday at 11.

Basketball girls don’t forget that every Monday during lunch there are open gyms where you can work on shooting and fundamentals.
