EHS Mock Trial club takes on Saint Mary

The Englewood High school Mock trial club has spent the last three months practicing their parts. Each member takes on a role such as a witness, defense, and prosecution in a case.

The case the group is taking on this year is about a little girl who accidentally took marijuana edibles and fell off a balcony. She died three days later after the incident. The fake case involves the father who is suing “Pot Incorporated” for the little girl’s death.

The case gives students a chance to play the roles and work through the case against each other at Englewood and then, other schools, working the same case compete against each other to see who has built the best “roles”.

Students get points from judges who determine the reality of the arguments and case knowledge.

Englewood took on Saint Mary in a practice session. Students learned how to prepare for later competitions and what they need to do to improve their skills.
