EHS announcements for the week of 12/14/2018

(ethan) Hello and welcome to the PirateTV announcements for the week of December 14, 2018, I’m Ethan.

() and I’m Elowyn. We are just one week away from the holiday break and less than a week away from semester finals.

The FINAL EXAM SCHEDULE FOR SEMESTER ONE – begins Wednesday, December 19 with periods 1, 3, then lunch, 5 and 7 with the day ending at 1:45. Buses will pick up at 2:00 for high school students. There will be Makeups in the afternoon.

On Thursday, December 20: finals will be held for periods 2, 4, and 6. Lunch will be Available at 11:55,
Buses will pick up at 1:00 pm only. And Makeups will be in the afternoon. Good luck, study hard, stay focused.

(ethan) There are a number of fees that are due for lunches.

Please check with the cafeteria to see if you have any fees. Payment can be made to the cafeteria. Please pay the fees as soon as possible.

(anchor)Crazytown sold out on opening night, Friday, December 7th. The cast put on a fantastic show both nights and was more than excited to do so.

Performers from both the middle schools and the high school have been working on this show since September, and it certainly showed in the exciting and hilarious performance.

With the first show of the year being such a smashing success, actors are ready to carry the momentum into Fiddler on the Roof. Auditions for this year’s musical were on Monday, December 10th. The cast list will be posted by Friday the 14th. The actors are very eager to find out what part they receive and to see what the theater department manages to do next.

(ethan) Wrestling season got underway and athletes are already winning matches.

In the recent matchup at the Skyview Invitational, Junior James Sharp, wrestling at 182 pounds, took home 3rd place. He says, “The season has been going well. The team is larger than last year. They added more JV this year. A big difference this year is it’s faster paced.” The very next match, Sharp took first place at the 2018 North Vikings Invitational. Sharp went a perfect 4-0 on the day and pinned his opponent in the finals to win the 182 lb weight class. Israel Lopez and Ezekiel Ashlock also continued to gain valuable varsity wrestling experience as they added two more matches under their belt.

(anchor)The girls and boys Basketball teams continue their winning streaks taking on strong opponents and bringing home wins.

The Boys Basketball season took home a win in its first home game against Denver West. EHS players say it was clear the team is stronger this season. The final score was 66-40. For the last three years, the team has come close but has never won a match-up against Denver West.

(anchor) The girls took home a win as well, beating Denver West 43-42. Alexis Casas got two free throws to win in the last 10-seconds of the game. “The first game was tough but we still managed to work hard to win the game,” said Girls Varsity player Ashley Munoz (11).

The boys are 2-1 going into this week’s games, the girls are 3-1 for the season.
