Meet the team building the human powered vehicle
And they are all girls!

Englewood has a team of welders… and they’re all girls! These ladies are in a club that met for the first time Thursday to build a human powered vehicle. In order to make the vehicle, the club needs to learn to weld, design using CAD software, and use nearly all of the tools in the EHS FAB lab. The idea behind the human powered vehicle comes from STEM Director Bill Gilmore and various organizations around Colorado that decided that students would get a lot of experience in Engineering if they made a full project. FAB lab teacher Dave Trujillo decided the club here at Englewood would be all girls, “More girls need to get involved in Engineering and this project will showcase how great our students can be.”
Our club will compete against teams in school districts all over Colorado. The project is slated to be finished by springtime.
