Kyle Brink is a US History teacher at EHS. He is also going to be the new baseball coach as well. After a dismal 2017 baseball season for the Pirates, some believe Brink looks to be the saving grace for the Englewood baseball program. With high-level experience and connections with the pros, players say Coach Brink looks like the perfect candidate for the job, “I believe Coach Brink has a solid baseball background and I’m excited to develop a relationship with him. I’m also believing that a program is in the making, with offseason workouts and a sense of urgency to become a solid team. Everything is looking up,” Mason Robertson (10) said.

Brink hails from ThunderRidge High school and this is his first year at EHS. He knows discipline is the key to a successful season, “We will have more structured practices to help develop a routine to where players know what to expect on a daily basis.”

Brink is looking to build a more cohesive team, “I’d like to develop a team atmosphere, where nobody plays as an individual.” He is not waiting for spring to get players in shape, “We’ve started winter workouts since Christmas break ended, helping players become quicker, faster, and stronger as baseball is a game of short, quick sprints. Along with winter workouts, every Friday is focused on knocking the rust off of everyone’s swings.”

Morning practices are Wednesday and Friday from 6:45 until 8:00 am. Baseball season begins February 26.
