“Birthday cake!”
A large group of students filled the halls of Englewood High School at the start of lunch on November 7, 2025, to celebrate one of their classmates.
Senior Leon Huntington is hitting a big number today.
“Hey, are you guys going to sing the ‘Happy Birthday’ song?”
“We already did.”
Leon had an idea of what he wanted to do for his birthday. With a crown on his head, he set up a party in the halls, “Well, today is my birthday, I’m turning the big 18, so nothing less for my birthday.”
Normally, you would have these kinds of parties in elementary school, but Leon wanted to do one now.
“I love Englwood High School and this is my home. I thought I would celebrate my birthday with everyone as a way of giving back.”
His way of giving back was bringing in enough sweet treats to feed all the classmates who passed by in the hall. His friends helped pass out the cake so Huntington could enjoy talking to everyone.
“I brought this cake. It has a beautiful picture of my face on it, and I brought cupcakes. Get yourself some cake. It is me from all through the years.”
He did it as a sentimental way of showing everyone himself throughout the years.
“Let me get a piece of Leon’s face,” said a freshman student.
Everyone who came to celebrate Leon’s birthday had a blast with him.
“18 is great, it is a busy day today,” Huntington said.
Huntington celebrated his birthday the best way possible, with all his friends and classmates.
